Things I Have Learned...

Well, let's dedicate this blog to Steph, the reason why I got this, whose birthday was yesterday, and possibly one of the bestest friends of all time.

So I thought to start off I'd write a little blog about some stuff I have learned...

1. You don't color ducks with chalk, it's difficult to get off. Possibly harming the duck in the process.
2. When babysitting, specifically siblings (more specifically girl siblings), do not, under any circumstances allow the eldest to play with the hose. There will be tears and arguments ensuing shortly thereafter.
3. Not calling parents after driving in treacherous weather/late times of night, will ensure a stern talking to, even if you have honestly forgotten. PS this is also extended to accidentally leaving phone in car for hours while at someones house on a Saturday night, causing the parental units to temporally lose communication with you.
4. Friends are not those who are perfect, whom you agree with completely, or get along with all the time. Friends are those who are there for you when it counts and genuinely care for you, so much so that you overlook the imperfections, agree to disagree, and forgive and forget (then laugh about later)... cuz you know they will do the same for you in return.
5. You may not necessarily love some things that you do in life, specifically for others. It may exhaust you to do it, but no one else will. Who are you to deprive someone of joy because you simply do not enjoy something? Not to say you should hate your job, or the community service you do quite frequently. But when one is asked to help others and it won't kill you to help; do it. Simply not doing something because you don't want to is no excuse. If we all went around doing only the things we wanted to, what would be accomplished?
6. Yes, telling someone that you are smarter than them is a bad idea. Even if you were joking, and it's true.
7. Girls + Boys = Stupidity soon to ensue.
8. Just because you're not the best at something doesn't mean you can't be great at it, hard work, efforts, perseverance are sometimes more important.
9. Each and every movie has a point, some are just to entertain you and let you admire attractive people during high suspense action.
10. Just because you have a great CGI movie, doesn't make the movie a good story. It may just cover up your cheesy plot line. (PS if Robert Downey Jr. is in it, it's totally okay and excused)
11. I probably wouldn't be able to live in a city for a prolonged period of time (darn smog)
12. I live being country. In fact, I love the country! Sweet tea, hash browns, grits, rocking chairs, and frolicking in the muggy, summer air as the sun sets after a long day at the lake are what life was made of.
13. Classic stories, literature as the genre it is properly named, is better than you think.
14. The word 'is' is both the worst word every invented and the most necessary.
15. Life isn't fair, but once you get over that and have God in your life, it can be pretty great. Not because of the circumstances, but rather independent of the situations you are in.
